The Career Mentor Program
The CBS MBA Career Mentor Program connects MBA alumni working in Denmark in a wide variety of industries and roles with current CBS Full-time MBA students to support their current job search and long term career planning. The objective is to increase the MBA students' chance of finding a job in Denmark. Alumni have unique insight into their industry and role and can pass on their wisdom and knowledge about the Danish job market and job search process relative to their own experience.
Becoming a Career Mentor
Mentors and mentees are matched based on the career objectives of the student. The purpose is for mentors to provide insights and knowledge about job roles and industries in the Danish market as well as help motivate them in the job search process. Mentors and mentees are equipped with support material to help guide their sessions.
We have been overwhelmed by the positive engagement of alumni and have received great feedback from mentor meetings. Getting help from alumni can make a big difference to international MBA students that are trying to establish themselves in the Danish job market. We are very grateful for the support from our alumni
MBA Careers Manager, Claire Hewitson
The program is primarily aimed at MBA students who wish to stay in Denmark. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please send through your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short email outlining your interest in becoming a mentor and, if applicable, your experience with mentoring, to our Full-time MBA Careers Manager, Nivedita Ramulu Eskesen email@example.com
The Leadership Mentor Program
As part of our Leadership Program in the Full-time MBA, we run a complimentary Mentor Program. The Mentor Program is an opportunity for Full-time MBA students to discuss leadership-in-practice with experienced leaders. Most of our mentors are MBA alumni from either the EMBA or Full-time MBA programs and many of them have been involved for many years. There are 2 mentors to a group of 4 students and there are 6-7 meetings between September and May.
The Leadership Program, also called The Leadership Discovery Process, is a very ambitious program run by the Danish consultancy Implement Consulting Group. It focuses on personal development and on discovering yourself as a leader. The Mentor Program is designed to support this development and to provide students with insights into how leadership is practiced and perceived in Denmark.
LDP is a very unique course which students often highlight as life-changing. This is also thanks to our committed alumni who act as mentors and support the students to reach even deeper levels of leadership reflections than the course in itself can provide. The engagement of alumni in the LDP mentor program plays a significant role in the students’ Leadership journey and mentors as well as mentees find this collaboration highly rewarding. Furthermore, it is an opportunity for alumni to keep up-to-date with latest research and hot topics within the leadership field.
