The Circular Denmark: Flemming Besenbacher, Chairman of Carlsberg
About the event
How do we establish a new economy where long-lasting design, maintenance, remanufacturing and recycling is central to our competitiveness and growth? And how do we help companies transform the way resources are used today and rethink business models to ensure circular solutions and technologies are in use?
These are some of the questions, an advisory board of visionary leaders, led by Flemming Besenbacher, set out to answer in their 27 recommendations for the Danish Government to help increase enterprises' earning opportunities, promote a more efficient utilisation of resources and minimise the environmental impact.
“It is not just a necessity but also a golden opportunity for growth and prosperity in Denmark and globally”, says Flemming Besenbacher. “There is enormous potential in circular economy but plenty of work cut out for us if Denmark wants to lead the way and reap the benefits. It requires a paradigm shift where we rethink the way we design, produce and consume.”
At this event, Flemming Besenbacher, chairman of Carlsberg Group and the Carlsberg Foundation, as well as professor in nanoscience at Aarhus University, shares his vision for The Circular Denmark.
