Mads Nipper, coming CEO of Ørsted
About the event
Since taking the reins of Grundfos in 2014, former CEO Mads Nipper has worked tirelessly on reducing the world’s electricity consumption, providing access to clean water for millions of people, addressing needs for cooling technologies and other issues related to climate changes. At the heart of Grundfos is the goal to create clean water and sanitation and finding energy efficient, creative and technical solutions for customers and the world, a DNA that matches perfectly the UN Sustainability Goals 6 and 13 (clean water and sanitation & climate action).
Making a difference is essential to Mads Nipper, and his leadership of a sustainable Grundfos has earned him prestigious awards and recognition worldwide. He is a value-driven leader motivated by principles he willingly shares and that serve as inspiration for his 19.000 employees and other leaders around the world. These serve as useful skills as Mads Nipper transitions from the position as CEO of Grundfos to CEO of Ørsted.
Ørsted ranked the most sustainable company in the world in the Corporate Knights 2020 Global 100 index of most sustainable corporations. The company underwent a major transformation from a fossil-fuel based energy company to a global green energy company in the past decade. Recognized as the global leader in offshore wind, Ørsted aims at being carbon neutral in energy generation and operations by 2025, achieving a carbon neutral footprint by 2040 and reducing emissions faster to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
In this upcoming event, Mads Nipper will share his personal leadership style, his vision for a greener more sustainable future and weathering a challenging pandemic.
About the speaker
Mads Nipper was recently appointed CEO of Ørsted and will commence his role in January 2021. Since 2014, he has been the CEO of Grundfos. He joined Grundfos after having worked for LEGO from 1991-2014 in a range of roles, lastly as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. He holds a number of board positions in Danish companies and for the Confederation of Danish Industry. He graduated with an MSc in International Business from Aarhus Business School in 1991.
