Leading under Pressure with Jørgen Holme, CEO of Jet Time

Leading through crises and streamlining for success

When Jørgen Holme stepped in to lead Danish airline Jet Time in 2016, the company was struggling with major losses and challenges to handle the complexity that followed an accelerated expansion diversifying the company’s business model. Fast forward to 2019, where Jet Time has finalized a demanding downsizing and turn around and had an annual turnover of 1.4 billion DKK, grew profit substantially over the previous year, and is currently looking ahead to an ambitious new 5-year strategy plan. In this talk, Jørgen Holme will tell about the transition from crisis to a more solid and lean airline and success criteria along the way.

About the speaker

Jørgen Holme has been CEO of Jet Time since 2016. He was previously CEO of Atlantic Airways, and has also held management positions at SAS, Spanair, Air Greenland, and SEB Kort. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Management from the University of Aarhus.

About the company

Jet Time is a Danish-owned airline founded in 2006. The company operates purely business-to-business, delivering air transport solutions for charter companies and others with a need for air transport. Since Jet Time’s founding, the business has been expanded to include lease of flight capacity to other airlines (“ACMI”, Aircraft, Crew; Maintenance and Insurance) which is a business area that makes up an increasing proportion of Jet Time’s production. Jet Time has grown from a small company, with two aircraft and a small number of employees, to the largest Danish-owned airline with an annual turnover of more than 1.4 billion DKK and over 400 employees.
