Alumni Perspective: CFO Jesper Brandgaard, Novo Nordisk

Driving growth in a successful global health care company

In the past decade, Novo Nordisk has grown from 15.000 to 40.000 employees. Driven by strong values and positioning themselves as responsible, sustainable and caring, they are governed by principles they call 'The Novo Nordisk Way'. Imperative to this growth is the CFO, Jesper Brandgaard, who joined Novo Nordisk in 1999 and took on the role as CFO already in 2000. Since then, Jesper has taken Novo Nordisk on an incredible journey of growth thus changing Novo Nordisk to become a truly global organisation operating across continents. He has been praised for his ability to manage investor expectations and their view on Novo Nordisk’s performance and profile.

At this event, we get a peek behind the scenes of one of the most significant CFOs in Denmark. Graduating from the CBS EMBA program in 1995, our very first EMBA class, Jesper has leveraged his MBA to the fullest potential. He is recognised as a CFO with excellent business insight and skills and has often been quoted that his MBA created this platform to improve his business understanding.
